Sun sign or Moon sign?
Western astrology uses the Sun sign, which is fixed by your birth date. Vedic astrology gives more weight to your Moon sign (Rashi), the sidereal sign the Moon occupied when you were born. The Moon moves quickly and governs the mind, so transits counted from it give the most personal predictions.
To find your Rashi, enter your birth details in the free Kundli tool.
